St. John Lutheran School Board of Christian Day School believes that extracurricular activities, those activities not required by law or board policy, are an essential part of the school climate and can be beneficial to students in building character, attaining skills for life, and developing capabilities to perform in front of an audience. Because these activities are in addition to the regular school program, certain guidelines listed below have been developed to insure that they will benefit all students eligible and also be safe and effectively run programs.

Athletic Director: Pat Marshall

Basketball

Due to the amount of students we have in each of the required grades we are unable to compete in the leagues we would normally have games in. To compensate we will be having our own St Johns after school clinics… where students will learn and practice rules, fundamentals, skills, and plays. Going deep into the structure of the game while gaining experience with drills and competitions that you wouldn’t find in a normal seasons practice. The clinics will be divided by two different age groups and be held on specific separated days of the week.

Grades 1-3rd Boys and Girls
3:30 to 5:00 p.m.
- Thursday -

Grades 4th through 8th grade Boys and Girls
- 3:30pm to 5:00pm
- St Johns School
- Mondays and Thursdays

We will follow this schedule through the end of January and will have a basketball event for the school where all the participating students can play and showcase their skills in front of parents, teachers, and fellow students. We look forward to working with and teaching your kids about this great game and are looking forward to next season when we CAN compete and that our St Johns Tigers will be ready and developed when that time comes!

Here are some logistics; Participating cost is $35 per student for the entire season.
And the only gear needed will be a good pair of athletic shoes and shorts.
If your child is in the OLDER class your first day is Dec 4th at 3:30pm. We will see you out there!
If your child is in the YOUNGER class your first day is Dec 7th 3:30pm.
