The Half-Day Kindergarten is a busy room! We start the day by checking the helper chart, adding the calendar date and the number on the days of school number line, and graphing the weather for the day. We recite the pledges to the American and Christian flags and listen to classmates' Show and Tell. Mrs. Stottlemyer shows us the new activities for our centers, then we always have our Bible lesson for the day. We sing songs, recite the Bible verse, and sometimes act out the Bible events. We have a storybook, vocabulary reader, or phonics reader to read together. We go over our "sight" words and our letter sound for the week. After playtime in the gym or outside, we complete the reading papers for the day and have math and writing lessons.

Our favorite time of the day is Center Time! Sometimes we are assigned to centers and sometimes we can choose our next one if it isn't "busy". We have art, listening, phonics, writing, reading, playdoh, kitchen, block, water, math, science/social studies, puzzles/games, workshop, computer (keyboard), and letter fun centers. The activities change often. In the pictures you can see some of us working in the centers. Mrs. Shoup, our classroom aide, is in the classroom to help us.

At the end of the day we clean up, have story time, and close with prayer, thanking Jesus for our day, praying for sick and absent friends, and asking Him to take care of us as we leave.
