6th Grade

The 6th grade is first and foremost concerned with training young people to be caring individuals with a Christian attitude. That includes learning the Law and Gospel message and spreading it to others. Once a year they have the opportunity to lead a Chapel service for the student body. Parents are always welcome to attend. Our curriculum is similar to any school. We study the basics as well as doing activities involving a computer. In computer classes we are primarily concerned with keyboarding, word processing, and database skills as they relate to everyday situations. The internet is also available to us as a resource in any subject. Discipline centers around Matthew 18: 15-17. In these verses Jesus lays out a pattern for us as to how to handle disagreements. Extracurricular activities include an opportunity to participate in volleyball, basketball, and cheerleading. A Musical and Science Fair are held on alternate years. There is also a School choir as well as Band at Defiance Junior High School for those interested in music. |
