Annual Fund

Since establishing the St. John Lutheran School Annual Fund, funds are provided to St. John Lutheran School through generous donations from private individuals, businesses and other sources. Donors include alumni, parents, members of the congregations, grandparents, businesses and others who have special concerns for children.

In the past funds were raised for special projects around the school through school fundraisers. Students and parents usually provided the legwork for selling to friends and family. Profits from the sales were used to purchase what was needed. It was felt that this was a burden on families so the Annual Fund committee was established. Each year a campaign is held. Volunteers make calls to supporters to ask for pledges. Then the pledges are collected. Other fundraisers that are held during the year are:
Springfest, which is a carnival type event held by the St. John Lutheran School Parent Teacher League, Sauerkraut supper which is held on election night, the 5th through 8th grade pie sale which is held right before Thanksgiving each year. The pie sale provides funds for the class trip that is taken by the 7th and 8th grade classes.

The Annual Fund has provided many items for our school. Some of these are: new lockers, a new building-wide phone system, scholarships for needy families, library books, playground equipment, classroom allowances, funds towards 7th and 8th grade class trip, and students activities funds. We are excited to announce that a new computer lab is being funded by the 2008 Annual Fund and is expected to be delivered in June.

If you would like to contribute to the Annual Fund please call the school office at 419-782-6166 to be sent paperwork or simply send us your donation with a note that it is for the Annual Fund.

Annual Fund donations will be matched by some payroll plans. Check with your employer for information on possible matching donation plans.
